The Chronicles of Heidi, our first Stellar-Mama

“Hi, my name is Heidi, and I am a working mom with an extremely busy 2-and-a-half-year-old son and I have baby number 2 on the way who is due at the end of May 2017. My pregnancy journeys have not been easy ones with both my children little rainbow miracles thanks to the modern science of IVF. There have been many ups and downs throughout this process, it has been a real baptism of fire!

Whatever your route has been to falling pregnant, the knowledge that you have a little miracle growing inside of you is a truly special and sometimes nerve-wracking experience. Every scan you hold your breath, and then there is a huge sigh of relief when you see and hear that little heartbeat. I was lucky enough to be advised before conception that I needed to be on a good prenatal vitamin with both my pregnancies to ensure that my baby had the best start in life as folic acid deficiencies are a leading cause for neural tube defects (e.g. spina bifida) in babies. While I try to ensure that I have a healthy lifestyle and well balanced diet, I do worry that I may not be getting everything that my baby needs from my diet. This is why it was extremely important to me to make sure that I choose a prenatal vitamin that made sure my baby was getting everything it needs to grow healthy and strong. I also knew that taking these vitamins not only benefits the baby, but will also benefit me later on in life as well as helping prevent the likes of osteoporosis.

It was extremely overwhelming during my first pregnancy to try and decide what prenatal vitamin to use. When you walk into the pharmacy you really are bombarded by choice! For my second pregnancy I was recommended Stellar-Mama. After having a closer look at what was in Stellar-Mama, one of the key factors that helped me with my choice in prenatal vitamin was the fact that Stellar-Mama uses a new generation folate which the body can absorb straight away. I also love the fact that Stellar-Mama combines all the essential vitamins you need in one easy to use pack!

I look forward to sharing this pregnancy journey with you!”
